Huatao Group-Vibrating Screen Technology Solution and Service for Quarry & Mining Industry Since 2008.
HUATAO Conveyor Belt Tracker is designed to keep conveyor belts centered in mining, aggregates, coal, cement, steel, ports and bulk material handling. Also called a Belt Tracking System, Belt Trainer or Conveyor Belt Alignment System, it responds to belt wander and guides the belt toward its correct running position.
Belt misalignment can cause belt-edge wear, structural contact, material spillage and extra maintenance. A properly selected belt tracker helps reduce manual adjustments, downtime and cleanup.
HUATAO offers configurations for carrying and return sides. Upper or carrying-side trackers control belt position on troughed conveyors, while Return Belt Trackers operate on the clean return side to correct belt wander before pulleys and other critical components.
Mechanical Self-Aligning Belt Trackers use sensing or guide rollers and pivoting assemblies to generate corrective action. Hydraulic Belt Trackers provide controlled correction for demanding conveyors. Motorized or Electric Actuator Belt Trackers can use sensors for active alignment and automation.
For reversible conveyors, a Reversible Belt Tracking System provides corrective tracking in both directions and suits shuttle conveyors, stacker/reclaimer systems and bidirectional equipment.
This product positioning follows terminology commonly used by international conveyor manufacturers, where belt trackers and belt trainers are offered for both carrying-side and return-side applications. Flexco, for example, uses “Belt Trainers” and “Conveyor Belt Trackers,” while Martin Engineering categorizes its tracking solutions as upper and lower units.
Continuous belt tracking is particularly valuable where belt wander can cause edge damage, spillage and contact with the conveyor structure. International tracking systems are designed to make continuous or automatic corrections rather than relying entirely on manual idler adjustment.
Mining conveyors: Iron ore, copper ore, gold, coal and other abrasive materials require reliable belt alignment over long operating hours. A belt tracker helps reduce contact between the belt edge and conveyor structure.
Aggregate and quarry plants: Crushing and screening circuits depend on stable conveying of stone, sand and gravel. Tracking systems help maintain belt position under changing loading conditions and reduce spillage around transfer points.
Coal, power, cement, steel and port conveyors: Heavy-duty belt tracking systems support stable conveying under continuous operation, high loads and changing material conditions.
For mining applications, belt tracking can be especially important because mistracking may cause belt damage, structural contact and fugitive material. Published industrial case studies show belt tracking systems being used on iron ore, gold mining, coal, steel and other bulk handling conveyors.
A conveyor belt tracker may include a heavy-duty mounting frame, pivoting/self-aligning idler assembly, guide or sensing rollers, rubber/polyurethane-lagged rollers, bearings, shafts, linkage, hydraulic cylinders, electric actuators and sensors.
Rubber or polyurethane lagging can increase friction between the tracking roller and belt. Sensing rollers detect belt deviation and transfer movement to the tracking mechanism. Automated models can combine sensors and electric actuators with plant controls.
Selection should consider belt width, speed, thickness, tension, trough angle, conveyor inclination, material characteristics, loading conditions, belt direction and space. The tracker should work with correctly aligned pulleys and idlers.

Exact dimensions, roller diameter, belt width range, speed rating and actuator configuration should be confirmed from the conveyor drawing before ordering. For reference, commercial heavy-duty tracking systems are available for wide belts, higher speeds and demanding loads; some published HD designs accommodate belt speeds up to 4 m/s and belt thicknesses around 28.5 mm.
HUATAO provides mining equipment and wear-resistant components for mineral processing. Our belt tracking solutions can be configured according to conveyor structure, belt width and conditions. OEM/customized designs are available for upper trackers, return belt trackers, heavy-duty belt trainers and reversible tracking applications.
Please send your belt width, speed, thickness, carrying or return-side requirement, belt direction, trough angle, conveyed material, conveyor drawing or installation photos, and the main tracking problem.
HUATAO can recommend a suitable Conveyor Belt Tracker configuration and provide technical specifications, drawings and a quotation.
