Working Principle, Types, and Maintenance Guide for Vibrators | Core Components of Vibrating Screens Explained
1. Vibrator: The "Heart" of the Vibrating Screen
The vibrator is the core component of a vibrating screen. Its primary function is to generate excitation force, driving the screen box to vibrate in a specific pattern, thereby enabling material screening, grading, or conveying. Vibrators can be categorized into various types based on their design principles and application requirements. Each type has unique characteristics in structure, excitation force generation, and applicable scenarios.
Inertial Vibrators
Single-axis vibrators: These include eccentric wheel, eccentric shaft, eccentric wheel-shaft, and eccentric block types. They produce approximately circular motion in the screen box and are suitable for screening equipment with a circular vibration trajectory.
Dual-axis vibrators: These consist of two uniaxial vibrators and are available in either cylindrical or box configurations. They produce approximately linear motion in the screen box and are suitable for linear screens or large vibrating equipment.
Vibration Motors
Vibration motors integrate an electric motor and vibrator. An eccentric mass is mounted on the output shaft, generating centrifugal force through rotation.
Advantages: Simple structure, and the excitation force can be infinitely adjusted by adjusting the angle of the eccentric mass.
Disadvantages: Limited excitation force, typically used for small and medium-sized vibrating screens.
Vibration is achieved through the periodic interaction between the electromagnet and the screen surface. The screen box does not participate in the vibration, reducing the amount of vibration involved.
Applications: Primarily used for dewatering materials and fine-particle screening on lightweight vibrating screens.
3.Exciting Force Adjustment and Maintenance
Exciting Force Adjustment
The exciting force depends on the eccentric mass, eccentricity, and operating speed. By adjusting these parameters, the exciting force can be flexibly adjusted to suit different materials and screening requirements.
For example, the exciting force of the vibration motor can be infinitely adjusted by adjusting the eccentric angle.
Maintenance and Care
Regularly check the integrity of all vibrator components and clean internal dust and debris.
Tighten loose fasteners, inspect the lubrication system, and replenish or replace lubricants promptly.
Proper maintenance can significantly extend the service life of the vibrator and ensure stable operation of the vibrating screen.
4. Conclusion
As the key power source of the vibrating screen, the selection, adjustment, and maintenance of the vibrator directly impact screening efficiency and equipment reliability. Understanding its operating principles and characteristics, combined with sound maintenance methods, can help users maximize equipment performance and achieve efficient and low-energy screening operations.
