Huatao Group-Vibrating Screen Technology Solution and Service for Quarry & Mining Industry Since 2008.
In industrial dewatering screens and high-frequency vibrating screens, the screen surface is not a single flat plane but a combination of wavy raised areas and flat areas. This design is not accidental – it is an optimized solution for different screening stages and material characteristics, aiming to balance efficiency, accuracy, and service life.
When material lands on the raised surface under vibration, particles are continuously flipped and tossed. This breaks the surface tension layer caused by moisture or fine materials, preventing particles from getting stuck in the screen openings and significantly reducing clogging.
The raised structure creates three-dimensional flow channels. As material moves along the wavy grooves, it constantly contacts new screen openings, increasing the chance of passing through and improving screening efficiency by over 30%.
The pointed peaks of the raised surface impact and disperse piled-up material, quickly establishing a correct stratification where coarse particles stay on top and fine particles settle at the bottom, allowing fines to pass through promptly.
The flat section features more uniform and finer openings. It performs precise grading on material that has been pre-treated by the raised section, ensuring consistent output particle size and controlling final product quality.
The flat structure has better rigidity, capable of withstanding prolonged impact and abrasion from heavy materials. As the main load-bearing surface, it extends the overall service life of the equipment.

Zone |
Function |
Advantage |
|
Front (Raised zone) |
Fast processing of thick bed, rough separation, strong dewatering |
Anti-clogging, fast stratification, high throughput |

Rear (Flat zone) |
Fine screening, impact resistance |
High grading precision, stable structure, long life |
In short: Raised surfaces make it run fast and clog-free; flat surfaces make it accurate and durable.

1.For high-moisture, fine-particle, or clogging-prone applications, choose a screen with a higher proportion of raised surfaces.
2.For strict product size requirements (e.g., construction sand), retain a sufficiently long flat screening section.
3.Regularly check raised surface wear – excessive wear reduces screening efficiency.
4.Polyurethane screens are recommended for a combination of wear resistance and elasticity.
The “raised + flat” combined screen is an important technical innovation in dewatering screens. The front wavy raised section solves the most difficult problems in traditional screening – clogging and poor stratification – while the rear flat section ensures grading precision and structural strength. This design achieves high efficiency, low maintenance, and high precision in industrial screening, making it the preferred solution for modern dewatering operations.
