Huatao Group-Vibrating Screen Technology Solution and Service for Quarry & Mining Industry Since 2008.
In mining, mineral processing and coal slurry handling, hydrocyclones suffer severe abrasion and erosion from highspeed particles, which directly shortens equipment life and reduces classification efficiency. The cyclone liner – a wearresistant inner component – is the core solution to this problem. It is installed inside the hydrocyclone to isolate the main body from direct impact and corrosion, greatly lowering maintenance costs and ensuring stable operation.
The three most common materials are polyurethane, rubber and ceramic, each with distinct performance.
Polyurethane cyclone liner is the most popular choice today. Made of highgrade PU material, it offers outstanding wear resistance, high elasticity and strong tear strength. It absorbs impact effectively, resists corrosion and is not easy to crack or peel. Its service life is 2–4 times longer than rubber, with easy installation and stable performance in wet and harsh conditions.
Rubber cyclone liner features good flexibility and shock absorption with a lower cost. It performs well in lowabrasion working conditions and is easy to bond and process. However, it has lower wear resistance and poorer antiaging performance, making it suitable for basic applications.
Ceramic cyclone liner provides the highest hardness and top wear resistance, ideal for ultraheavy abrasion environments. It remains stable under longterm erosion. Yet it is heavy, brittle under strong impact and more expensive, limiting its general use.
Selecting the right cyclone liner depends on material particle size, abrasiveness, moisture and working pressure. For most mining and slurry applications, polyurethane liners provide the best balance of durability, toughness and cost efficiency.
Upgrading to a highperformance cyclone liner reduces downtime, lowers replacement costs and maintains consistent classification accuracy. It is a costeffective investment to improve overall operational efficiency.
