Centrifugal Gold Concentrator for Fine Gold Recovery
Product Information
Although commonly associated with gold recovery, the Centrifugal Gold Concentrator can also be applied to other high-density minerals. Depending on equipment configuration and mineral liberation characteristics, applications can include silver, tin, tantalum, tungsten, chrome, cobalt, iron and other heavy minerals. The separation process relies on density differences rather than chemical reagents. This makes centrifugal gravity concentration suitable for different mineral processing circuits where gravity-recoverable heavy minerals are present. Continuous centrifugal concentrators can also be considered where higher concentrate mass yields are required. Equipment selection should take into account target mineral density, feed size, capacity, solids concentration and downstream treatment requirements.
High centrifugal force significantly increases the effective separation force compared with conventional gravity concentration. Commercial enhanced-gravity equipment can operate across a broad G-force range depending on the model and application.
The centrifugal field helps recover fine liberated gold and other dense minerals that may be difficult to capture using conventional low-G equipment. Actual recovery depends on mineral liberation, particle size, feed density, bowl configuration and operating parameters.
The separation process is based on physical density differences rather than chemical reagents. No mercury or cyanide is required for the gravity concentration stage, making the equipment suitable for environmentally conscious mineral processing circuits.
Batch centrifugal concentrators can produce a relatively small quantity of high-grade concentrate from a much larger feed stream. This reduces the volume of material requiring downstream cleaning and upgrading.
The concentrator can be integrated with trommel screens, vibrating screens, hydrocyclones, pumps, ball mills, flotation circuits, shaking tables and other mineral processing equipment to form a complete gravity recovery circuit.
