Product Information
HUATAO Automatic Cross Belt Magnet for Quarry applications is designed to continuously remove ferrous contamination from crushed stone, gravel, limestone and aggregate conveyor lines. Installed across the conveyor, the magnetic separator attracts unwanted steel objects from the moving material bed and transfers them away using an automatic self-cleaning discharge belt. This helps prevent bucket teeth, bolts, rebar and other metal fragments from entering jaw, cone or impact crushers, reducing the risk of equipment damage and production stoppages. The rugged construction is suitable for dusty, abrasive and continuous quarry operating environments. HUATAO provides customized cross belt magnetic separators according to conveyor width, speed, material depth, processing capacity, suspension height, installation arrangement and local electrical requirements.
How Does a Cross Belt Magnet Work?
The separator is normally installed perpendicular to the main conveyor belt.
When bulk material enters the magnetic field, ferrous objects such as bolts, nails, steel wire, rebar, tools and machinery fragments are attracted upward toward the magnet.
A heavy-duty cleaning belt continuously travels around the magnetic assembly. Cleats on the belt transport captured metal toward the side of the conveyor.
Once the metal moves beyond the effective magnetic field, it is automatically discharged.
This design enables continuous tramp iron removal without stopping the main conveyor.
