HUATAO Mining Conveyor Magnetic Separator provides continuous tramp metal protection for conveyor systems operating in mines, mineral processing plants and aggregate facilities. Positioned above the material stream, the separator attracts ferrous contamination before it reaches downstream crushing, screening or grinding equipment. Removing steel pieces at an early stage helps reduce crusher damage, conveyor belt tearing, emergency maintenance and costly unplanned downtime. The automatic self-cleaning belt continuously discharges captured metal, making the system suitable for high-capacity and continuous-duty operations. HUATAO can supply magnetic separator solutions for ore, coal, limestone, crushed stone and other bulk materials. Selection is based on conveyor width, belt speed, burden depth, throughput, bulk density, suspension height and typical size of tramp metal.
How Does a Cross Belt Magnet Work?
The separator is normally installed perpendicular to the main conveyor belt.
When bulk material enters the magnetic field, ferrous objects such as bolts, nails, steel wire, rebar, tools and machinery fragments are attracted upward toward the magnet.
A heavy-duty cleaning belt continuously travels around the magnetic assembly. Cleats on the belt transport captured metal toward the side of the conveyor.
Once the metal moves beyond the effective magnetic field, it is automatically discharged.
This design enables continuous tramp iron removal without stopping the main conveyor.
