HUATAO Cross Belt Electromagnetic Separator is engineered for automatic separation of ferrous contaminants from materials moving on industrial conveyor systems. The separator is typically suspended across the main conveyor, where its electromagnetic field attracts tramp metal from the material burden. A reinforced self-cleaning belt with discharge cleats continuously carries captured steel toward the side of the conveyor for automatic release. This configuration is ideal for high-throughput applications where frequent manual magnet cleaning would interrupt production. HUATAO Cross Belt Magnetic Separators are suitable for mining, aggregate processing, coal handling, recycling, cement and bulk material industries. Separator dimensions, magnetic performance, belt design, cooling system and electrical configuration can be customized according to actual conveyor and material conditions.
How Does a Cross Belt Magnet Work?
The separator is normally installed perpendicular to the main conveyor belt.
When bulk material enters the magnetic field, ferrous objects such as bolts, nails, steel wire, rebar, tools and machinery fragments are attracted upward toward the magnet.
A heavy-duty cleaning belt continuously travels around the magnetic assembly. Cleats on the belt transport captured metal toward the side of the conveyor.
Once the metal moves beyond the effective magnetic field, it is automatically discharged.
This design enables continuous tramp iron removal without stopping the main conveyor.
