HUATAO Heavy-Duty Tramp Iron Magnet is developed to protect critical processing equipment from damaging ferrous contaminants carried by bulk material conveyors. Powerful magnetic attraction captures bucket teeth, drill parts, bolts, nuts, rebar, steel wire and other unwanted iron before they can enter crushers, mills or shredders. The self-cleaning configuration automatically transfers collected tramp metal away from the magnetic field, supporting continuous production with less operator intervention. It is especially suitable for harsh mining and quarry environments handling ore, coal, crushed stone, limestone and other heavy bulk materials. HUATAO offers application-specific selection based on belt width, conveyor speed, burden depth, bulk density, capacity, suspension distance and expected tramp iron size to provide dependable equipment protection.
How Does a Cross Belt Magnet Work?
The separator is normally installed perpendicular to the main conveyor belt.
When bulk material enters the magnetic field, ferrous objects such as bolts, nails, steel wire, rebar, tools and machinery fragments are attracted upward toward the magnet.
A heavy-duty cleaning belt continuously travels around the magnetic assembly. Cleats on the belt transport captured metal toward the side of the conveyor.
Once the metal moves beyond the effective magnetic field, it is automatically discharged.
This design enables continuous tramp iron removal without stopping the main conveyor.
