HUATAO Overband Electromagnetic Separator provides reliable and continuous tramp iron removal for demanding conveyor applications. Installed above a material handling belt, the separator creates a strong magnetic field that attracts unwanted ferrous objects from ore, coal, limestone, aggregates and other bulk materials. The integrated self-cleaning belt automatically transports collected metal away from the conveyor and discharges it into a designated collection area. This helps protect jaw crushers, cone crushers, impact crushers, mills and conveyor systems against damage caused by bucket teeth, bolts, rebar and steel fragments. Designed for mining, quarrying, cement, coal and bulk handling plants, HUATAO overband magnets can be engineered according to conveyor width, belt speed, material depth, throughput, suspension height and site conditions.
How Does a Cross Belt Magnet Work?
The separator is normally installed perpendicular to the main conveyor belt.
When bulk material enters the magnetic field, ferrous objects such as bolts, nails, steel wire, rebar, tools and machinery fragments are attracted upward toward the magnet.
A heavy-duty cleaning belt continuously travels around the magnetic assembly. Cleats on the belt transport captured metal toward the side of the conveyor.
Once the metal moves beyond the effective magnetic field, it is automatically discharged.
This design enables continuous tramp iron removal without stopping the main conveyor.
