HUATAO Self-Cleaning Electromagnetic Separator is designed for continuous removal of tramp iron from bulk materials transported on conveyor belts. Suspended above the conveyor, the unit generates a powerful magnetic field to capture ferrous contaminants such as bolts, nuts, steel wire, rebar, bucket teeth and other metal pieces. A continuously operating discharge belt automatically carries the captured iron away from the magnetic zone, reducing manual cleaning and production interruptions. This heavy-duty magnetic separator is widely used in mining, coal preparation, quarrying, aggregate processing, cement plants and recycling facilities. HUATAO can customize the magnetic system, conveyor compatibility, suspension height, cooling method and electrical configuration according to belt width, speed, burden depth, capacity and operating conditions.
How Does a Cross Belt Magnet Work?
The separator is normally installed perpendicular to the main conveyor belt.
When bulk material enters the magnetic field, ferrous objects such as bolts, nails, steel wire, rebar, tools and machinery fragments are attracted upward toward the magnet.
A heavy-duty cleaning belt continuously travels around the magnetic assembly. Cleats on the belt transport captured metal toward the side of the conveyor.
Once the metal moves beyond the effective magnetic field, it is automatically discharged.
This design enables continuous tramp iron removal without stopping the main conveyor.
